Fred’s Racing: A Collective Built on Grit, Growth and Good Vibes.

A Team Doing it Differently

The Heart of Fred’s Racing

Fred’s Racing started with a simple belief, racing should feel welcoming, purposeful, and rooted in community. If you’ve followed the Fred’s journey so far, you’ll know it’s always been about bringing people together, on rides, in cafés, on muddy trails and sunny lanes, and the team is just the natural extension of that feeling. It’s where the spirit of Fred’s becomes something you can stand on a start line with.

This isn’t a team built for pressure or perfection. Cycling has enough of that. Fred’s Racing exists because I believe there’s room for something more human- a team built on friendship, encouragement, curiosity, and the excitement of showing up because you want to. We’re here to prove that racing can be fun, warm, and full of personality, not just podiums.

Fred’s Racing is what happens when community meets ambition and decides to do things differently.

Why Fred’s Racing Exists

Fred’s Racing grew from the same idea that shaped Fred’s Club, that cycling should be open, not exclusive. Too often racing becomes about numbers, hierarchy, or whether you’re “worthy” of lining up. I wanted to build something different.

Most of us race to test ourselves, that spark of healthy competition is what drew me in too. But in cycling, where the sacrifices are high and the rewards are modest, it’s easy to lose sight of the joy that got you started in the first place. Expectations pile up, calendars get shaped for you, and suddenly the spark fades.

Fred’s Racing is here to protect that spark. A team where riders don’t need permission to show up. Where personality, humour, and curiosity matter more than power numbers. Where riders shape the culture, not the other way around.

We’re not trying to be the biggest or the flashiest. We’re here to build something purposeful, supportive, and grounded in connection.

Creating a Pathway, Not a Pedestal

A lot of riders want to race but don’t always know how to begin. Some have the desire but no pathway; others have the engine but lack confidence or guidance. Fred’s Racing exists to fill that gap.

We’re creating a place where ambition is welcomed, progression is supported, and the door stays open. Inclusivity and development aren’t extras, they’re the foundation. Racing shouldn't be a maze of unspoken rules.

Our aim is to meet riders where they are, helping them understand the race scene, build skills, gain confidence, and enjoy the journey from local crits to national events. Fred’s Racing shows that development and excitement can go hand in hand.

Racing Because It’s Fun - The Heart Behind It All

My own journey is a big part of why I’m shaping Fred’s Racing in this way. I grew up in elite sport, surrounded by structure and performance targets, but also the fun, silly, social side, long drives with my parents to track meets, muddy grass-track nights, races that ended with a bag of chips. That mix of performance and pure enjoyment is what pulled me in, and it’s what I want to bring back.

I’ve raced pretty much everything on offer, from The Tour Series to local 10s, hill climbs, national crits, UCI gravel events, and the National Track Championships. Through all of it, the reason I still ride hasn’t changed - it’s fun, it’s community, and it’s about seeing what you can do when you’re surrounded by good people.

That’s what I want Fred’s Racing to spread through British racing again. Let’s race the things that excite us, not just the shiny events. If Grasstrack is fading, let’s go revive it. If local crit leagues are struggling, let’s bring the energy back.

At its core, Fred’s Racing is about joy, curiosity, and community. About keeping racing human, lively, and accessible. If we can bring a spark back into British racing, then we’ve done what we set out to do.

Fancy Joining the Fred’s Racing Crew?

We might be a small, tight-knit bunch doing this to begin with, but we’re always excited to bring new faces into the fold. If you’re someone with a bit of spark, legs, attitude, personality, or just the perfect amount of chaos, then you’ll fit right in with Fred on your chest.

If any part of this makes you think “yeah, that sounds like a bit of me”, then get in touch. Start a conversation. Tell us your story, your goals, or just why you love being on a bike.

We’re building something special here, and we’d love you to be part of it.
