Get to know the face behind Fred’s

Harrison’s Story - Founder, Fred’s Club.

I started Fred’s Club with a simple idea, that cycling should feel welcoming. Not exclusive, not intimidating, and not always defined by speed, watts, or what you’re wearing. I wanted to create a place where people could ride, talk, learn, train, and belong, without feeling like they had to tick a certain box to fit in. Fred’s is for anyone who loves the feeling of moving forward, whether that’s on the bike, in their training, or in their everyday life.

Fred’s grew from the last decade of my work across endurance sport: pro cycling, rowing, triathlon, and ultra running, but also from my own journey as an athlete. I’ve competed at a high level across multiple disciplines, from finishing 5th in the Kilo at the National Track Championships, racing Tour Series and National Crit rounds, taking on UCI Gravel events and UTMB ultras, to reaching the quarterfinals at Henley Royal Regatta and competing in multiple GB Rowing trials. Through all of that, across every environment, I kept seeing the same thing: people thrive when they’re supported, educated, and part of something bigger than a training plan. That belief sits at the centre of Fred’s, sustainable progress, community at every level, and a culture built on curiosity, connection, and shared experience.

My Background

I’ve spent more than ten years competing and working in elite sport, combining hands-on coaching with applied sport science. I hold an MSc in Applied Sport & Exercise Physiology, and my work has spanned national and international partnerships, multidisciplinary support teams, and long-term athlete development pathways. My approach is built on empowering the athlete, open communication, and giving athletes the tools to understand their bodies and their training, so they can build confidence, resilience, and longevity in their sport.

Athletes & Achievements

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching and supporting athletes to national medals, breakthrough seasons, and major career steps. This includes working with a number of notable riders each forging their own path through high-level domestic and international racing. Some standout results during our time working together;

Will Roberts - GB Representation Hong Kong Nations Cup TP, 2 x National TP Champion, 2 x Bronze, 2 x Silver National Track Championships.

Harry Birchill - Tour of Britain Selection, Winner of National Road Series Rounds

Áine Doherty - Irish National Criterium Champion

Gaby Homer - Irish National Scratch Champion, 1 x Silver - Irish National IP

Bradley Symonds - Tour of Britain Selection

Naveen John - 2 x Indian National TT Championships

Sam Coleman - Youth - first Pro Development Contract, Youth and Junior National Medals

A standout chapter in my career has been my work with Saint Piran Pro Cycling during their rise to the UK’s top-ranked team in 2023. Across multiple seasons, I contributed to their performance strategy, race preparation, and data-led decision making, playing a central role in their success at events such as the Tour of Britain and in their progression on the national stage. That experience cemented my belief that performance is never just about numbers, it’s about people, culture, clarity, and the environment you build around the athlete.

What Fred’s Stands For

Fred’s isn’t just coaching, and it’s not just riding. It’s a community that blends all sides of the sport, social rides, performance support, education, racing opportunities, workshops, and a sense of belonging. It’s a space where beginners can sit alongside national-level athletes, where conversations flow as easily as the coffee, and where everyone is encouraged to be curious, confident, and themselves.

Whether you’re chasing personal bests, exploring Cornish backroads, lining up for your first crit, or just looking for good people to share the ride with, Fred’s is built to meet you where you are, and help you move forward with purpose.
